One who seeks continues to find. 'Inherent', meaning somethin’ innate, deep-rooted or built-in; 'Nuances', defined as a subtle difference in a meaning or expression, is exactly what started me on this quest of quest-ionz some 25 semesterz ago. I continue to search for answerz to inquiries many gave up on once we entered institutionz of higher programming (school). These are but some I need to get off my chest…

OK, I'MA SHOOT STRAIGHT FROM THE HIP—

IF SOMEONE WERE TO READ THE ARTICLES YOU WRITE IN YOUR MAGAZINE AND WEBSITE, ONE MIGHT THINK YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH LOVE FOR, AS YOU CALL IT... 'YT'. SO I'MA FLAT-OUT ASK... DO YOU HATE WHITE PEOPLE?
It’s easy to think so, but it isn’t true. What it is, is I really don’t like anyone who masquerades as somethin’ they’re not, and mainly will do it only when it benefits them. This doesn’t just go for YT (or whitefolk), it’s for every other race who's sucked from the Afrikan cultural breast of creation, then changin’ their vernacular, posture, apparel, and even residence just so they can be ‘close’ to Black people. We can see this now more than ever with all the white folks movin’ into predominantly Afrikan neighborhoodz across the country. Another name for this is gentrification. Today, we see more and more of them movin’ into parts of Brooklyn they once would never come to, even if escorted by po-po! Now they walkin’ Fulton & Nostrand Ave's like they belong!

YEAH, SHIT'S GETTIN' CRAZY IN BROOKLYN. AND I'M SURE IT'S LIKE THIS AROUND THE COUNTRY.
Of course it is! YTs tired of commuting to work from the suburbz, plus, they’ve alwayz had this love-hate attraction to our people—they love to hate us, while at the same time, wants to be us, but will settle for jacking our culture, the way we speak, dress, and even dance! I mean, I know our -ish is hypnotic, but I feel other ethnicities go beyond admiration to the point of blatant disrespect especially when I see white girlz tryin’ to "drop it like its hot", gettin' they eagle on and whatnot. It doesn’t stop there. I can’t tell you how upsettin’ it is to hear Hispanics call other Black people and even themselves 'nigga’ and it’s ok. I mean, what would the conversation be like if we substituted the word with ‘spik’ do you think they’d overlook it? How many Hispanic hedz you know don’t mind you callin’ ‘em that?! Admittedly though, we are the reason it’s tolerated. We allow asian hedz to infiltrate our culture. I mean, Vietnam was almost 50 yearz ago, so brothaz was over there havin’ relationz ‘cause they was stuck over there and not here with our Sistaz. But today, everywhere I turn, I see a brotha with an asian or a white chick! I turn on music videos and see madd asian-lookin’ females in the video and no Afrikan women! Do you know how many so-called Rasta’s be with Asian chicks?! I mean, wha’gwan, Bredren?! Afrikan women ain’t in style no more?!!?

—Oh, and I'm workin' on eliminating, or at least trimming down my use of profanity, especially in my writing—gotta think about the kidz, yo! So I hope you don't have a problem with that.

Yes and no. Again, it’s not because of the skin-tone or cultural background that I don’t like them. Look at it this way… If you were a very creative person—so creative that you didn’t realize how good you were, not realizin’ it’s evident by the number of hedz who mock you—and everytime you came up with somethin’ there was someone tryin’ to imitate you — not just here and there, but everytime you originated something! Some time goes by and you start to see madd hedz tryin’ to be like you, but the catch is that they start claimin’ it as theirz! Other cultures have been "borrowing", "stealin’", whatever you wanna call it from Afrikan people for millenniumz! What hedz do today ain’t no different then what Persianz, Romanz, and Greeks did in Kemet during the Nile Valley age! I've often thought the only thing whitefolk ever created was the patent!

This goes back to what I said before, we just create and create and create while at the same time, leave out the ownership part, makin' it easy for the—as dear Baba Del Jones (R.I.P) would say, "culture bandit" vulture's to come and eat what you prepared! Look at how YT was able to steal Kemet! We didn’t write nothin' down, we committed it to memory! But once the invasionz began, when YT was heading at that point, they devised a way to take ownership of our philosophies. What's deep is once they did this, there was a massive campaign to alter the origin by knocking off the nose, lips, and even beheading statues, changing the names of actual people as well as symbolz and iconz, and even had the audacity to after, come up with the term ‘plagiarizm’!

Well, you might think that if you’re unwilling to hear what my beef is really about. Again, I don’t hate white people, although I certainly do not like their wayz collectively and historically. Besides that, my writingz, although they deal with whitefolk alot—is not based on them. My writingz are fundamentally about the Afrikan experience; how we once had, then lost, then forgot that we lost, then forgot that we forgot. Then our very own culture was white-washed, via numerous invasionz in the Nile Valley, on up to the eurocentric-based world we live today—including the Maangamizi, or Middle Passage, in between! Do I speak about YT alot, yes, is it in a bad light, absolutely! Why? Because they have been the biggest thorn in our backside! Their entire structure of global white supremacy is based on keeping Afrikan people from knowing who we are truly. And they've devised many tactic's that keep us from that. Drs. Neely Fuller, Jr. and Francess Cress-Welsing broke it down to what's called the '9 Areas of People Activity': Economics, Education, Entertainment, Labor, Law, Politics, Religion, Sex, and War. A few yearz back, Brotha Keidi Awadu added a 10th one, Health.

When we look at these areas, we see whitefolk are in control of our economy. They dictate the kind of "education" we receive, while leaving out Afrikan history. When have you ever heard of books included in the curriculum written by John G. Jackson, Chancellor Williams, John Henrik Clarke, Anthony Browder, or Marimba Ani?! Six corporationz control the visionz we read, see, and hear: AOL Time Warner, Disney, Bertelsmann, Viacomm, News Corp, and Vivendi; Being 99% consumer and 1% producer, we are totally dependent on the type of foodz white folks make available to us in Health—by the way, look at what they've done to Black Farmerz; There are no Afrikan labor unionz; We are under the imbalanced jurisdiction of law and politics; Most Afrikanz are under the spell of western religion: christianity, judaizm, and islam; the society we live in does not believe in gender-balance (Sex); and we know who the race responsible for all the warz our innocent young lose their lives to in War. So. If you overstand this, it would be hard to not like their wayz, much less, trust them!

[awkward pause] Uh… yeah…, right. BUT, I'm also not gonna tell you some "we are the world", "I have a Dream" speech -ish, as well! I think it is evident they've chosen to see non-whites as lesser than. It is even more clear when you see how they simply take care of their own, not for just the immediately fam, but for generationz! My thing is, instead of spending so much time wondering why whitefolk don't/won't like us—at least equally—we should be doin' what they do—which is taking care of ourselves! We've been conditioned to believe we live in a racially communal world when in reality we clearly do not. Famine is rampant not only in Afrika—where white corporationz are robbing the land and resources dry with innumerable profit percentage-wise—poverty, unemployment, imprisonment comprises it's largest ratio in Afrikan communities; communities governed by white folk and white interests! But we all know this, but do we overstand why it's like this is the question!

Seriously though, the base of all my statements are because when you look at the playing field, they have all the advantages. Yes, even the sport’s playing field. I mean, yeah, we the strongest and quickest, but who’s smarter, the player who’s at risk everytime they step on the field and once retired, forced to find another hustle to survive, or the owner who governz all this -ish, not to mention and most importantly, has a safer and longer chance of livin’ financially well because he's not physically at risk. Despite the percentage we are in this country, this is all around the globe! Yet every corner of this earth has some caucasian runnin’ it! Are they that smart? Is it a science? Yes it is, it’s called Global White Supremacy! So if you wanna know why I diss YT so much, it’s because they seem to be the only race who consciously refuses to see and share with everyone equally. And yes, there are other ‘races’ that discriminate too, like the Mexican government who issued those racist postage stamps depicting Afrikan people as monkey’s and Aunt Jemima! But I find that they have been poisoned by YTs plague and are simply tryin’ to be white. Just like Dalit in India where dark-skinned people are discriminated simply because of the complexsion of their skin.

It's more than an emotion, there have been countless books on the genetic as well as psychological makeup of caucasianz, detailing why they tick to a different clock than everyone else, and it mainly points to their lack or low content of melanin—read Carol Barnes on melanin and Bobby E. Wright on mentacide — short for mental suicide. It is clear they cannot be changed. You can never turn a weed into a rose, and you can't condition YT to ever become humane!

Historically, they’ve given validation to not be trusted. While they steal everyone else’s culture, they create these lawz called Copyright, Trademark and Patent’s! I mean, how many logo’s—better yet, author of Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization, Anthony Browder showed how basically all the buildingz in Washington, DC were stolen symbolic designz from ancient Kemet! I did a complimentary Video Article in last seasonz edition of DGTv entitled, 'The Classified Origin of D.C.' Here you will see some of thingz Browder teaches. This action is like what historian Steve Cokely would call it, they like to “double-cross” you by sayin’ one thing and doin’ another. They say it’s unlawful to plagiarize, yet the curriculumz taught in school is stolen information while purposely not giving credit to its origin which is mainly from ancient Afrikan civilizationz in the Nile Valley!

Yo, I’m actually glad you asked that. I been hearin’ this since the first edition in 1993. I used to wonder, dam, is my writing that hard to read or is it what I’m sayin’ that’s a challenge to swallow? I know I make it easy for critic’s to shoot my message down because of my choice to write as freely as I do. I’ve had several teacherz tell me over the yearz they can’t let their students read me ‘cause of my "grammatical" errorz. I tell them they're not errorz, they’re blatant misspellingz. No, I’m not tryin’ to teach hedz how to read. It is merely an artistic expression our youth can identify with. Moreover, some may detest, but it's also a form of edutainment. We've seen how even top corporationz have adopted the use of 'z''s as well as the typical term created in the hood, now used mainstream, like 'chill' or 'swag'.

So, that leaves me with what I’m sayin’. I mean, is it really confusing for me to put a ‘z’ at the end of a word that soundz exactly how you read it?! Any other word I spell different is so easy, all you have to do is sound it out. Isn’t that how we were taught to read in the first place?! So why are hedz beefin’ ‘bout the way I write? I think it's because it’s different, and most hedz don’t like change. But I know the audience I’m tryin’ to reach feelz me and they’re intelligent enough to know not to write this way on their homework, report or job application.

Exactly! It’s different, and I think, attractive. I mean, I look at a lot of artists who write this way. Take the musician Music Soulchild. On his album, Soulstar, he gotta track entitled, ‘infatueighties’. His first two albumz were called ‘Juslisen’ and ‘Aijuswanaseing’.

SO YOU DON'T THINK IT'S REALLY ABOUT THE WAY YOU SPELL THINGZ, IT'S ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE–
Absolutely! See, I’ve alwayz wanted to write exactly how I feel despite the repercussionz. I mean, of course I care about how I come ‘cross, but I realize as with any artist, if you try to appease everyone, bein’ what they want you to be, then you’re not really an artist, you’re impersonating someone elses perception of their view of an artist! How can I explore the depths of my creativity if I’m afraid of how I’m received? If Jimi Hendrix didn’t make the music he did, would you even know of him? Would we know of Prince and all the other cat’s he influenced?? Don't get me wrong, I ain’t tryin’ to be no legend, I’m just aspiring to be M’Bwebe Aja Ishangi, nothin’ more and definitely nothin’ less!

I think the challenge is what I’m saying. As I challenge those who read my pieces, I challenge myself. The challenge is if you do not agree with what I write, find out what you do agree with in addition to doing whatever research is needed to refute my claimz—not to appease me but to appease yourself. Knowing is growing! See, we’re afraid to address issues that may cause us to see somethin’ different. We are comfortable in our ignorance. We continue to ignore the fact we can continue to learn beyond the 12th grade, or even a Masterz degree for that matter! I often wondered what makes one a Master, because you paid an extra ten-thousand or so for a couple more yearz after a Bachelorz? Shiiiiiit, I’ma life student, been learnin’ more now than I could ever learn in any institution of higher training. And I’ll keep aspiring to earn more degreez until I am physically no longer and at the cusp of transition. Oh, and by the way, there’s a study that validates my writing style. It’s called Ebonics or Black English, and Professor, Ernie A. Smith, PhD out of Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science in Los Angeles did an extensive study on it back in the early 1990s. He showed a connection of our use of word terminology to Afrikan tribes.

WORD? DOPE! LAST QUESTION, WHY DO YOU CALL BLACK PEOPLE AFRIKAN, AND WHY DO YOU USE THE LETTER 'K' IN 'AFRIKA' INSTEAD OF 'C'?
I wrote a piece called 'When Knowledge Became Kryptonite' which is sort of a cliff-notes to Chancellor Williams classic, 'Destruction of Black Civilization'. In this must read book, Williams noted the original names of the continent we call Afrika today. Some of hte earliest names were Wo'se, Nowe, Alkebulan, even the bible used Thebes! There is no 'Black land' on the map—although Ethiopia's greek expression meanz land of burned faces—and we know 'Africa' is either a latin or berber term, nonetheless, this is what this area is called today. However, the use of the 'k' replaced the 'c' was best summarized by Dr. Kwame Nantambu in 2002:

According to poet and writer Haki Madhubuti in his From Plan to Planet (1973), there are basically four reasons to spell Afrika with a K. They are:

1. Most vernacular or traditional languages on the Continent spell Afrika with a K. K is germane to Afrika.

2. Europeans particularly the Portuguese and British, polutted Afrikan languages by substituting 'C' whenever they saw 'K' or heard the 'K' sound B as in Kongo and Congo, Akkra and Accra, Konakri and Conakry B by substituting Q whenever they saw KW. No European language outside of Dutch and German has the hard 'C' sound. Thus, we see the Dutch in Azania calling and spelling themselves Afrikaaners. We are not certain of the origin of the name Afrika, but we are sure the name spelled with 'C' came into use when Afrikans were dispersed over the world. There the 'K' symbolizes our coming back together again.

3. The 'K' symbolizes a kind of Lingua Afrikana, coming into use along with such words and phrases as Habari Gani, Osagyfo, Uhuru, Asante, together constituting one political language, although coming from more than one Afrikan language.

4. As long as Afrikan languages are translated (written) into English, etc., the European alphabet will be used. This is the problem. The letter 'K' as with the letter 'C', is part of that alphabet, and at some point must be totally discontinued with the original name of Afrika used. The fact that Boers (peasants) in Azania also use the 'K', as in Afrikan to represent the hard 'C' sound demonstrates one of the confinements of the alphabet. Azania is the original name for South Afrika.

I could not've said it more clear. We are still trying to reconnect what was scattered across the planet. There's so much more of our history to be extracted, beefin' on how one expresses themself is a distraction to the larger task. Rather than worry about how someone sayz somethin', the focus should be on what's bein' said. If we continue playin' these reindeer games, our history will be forgotten, our youth will grow clueless of their legacy, and our culture will continue to be the main course on the table of global white supremacy!
